The Sins of the Children

clock November 2, 2008 13:51 by author troytaft

Ron Reagan Jr. obviously doesn’t know his father.  I say “know” in the present tense because I know that Ex-President Ronald Reagan is alive in heaven today.  It is a shame that Ron Reagan used his relationship as a platform to tear down his father’s work in front of God and man.  I know that God will always forgive the one who comes to Him, and I have to strongly rebuke Ron for what he said.

I am referring to an article that World Net Daily ran last month in which Ron Reagan (The president’s son) said that he didn’t believe his father would approve of Palin.  The article is here.

Fortunately, President Ronald Regan had more than one son. Michael Reagan believes that he sees his father in Palin.  I definitely agree and it is easy to explain why.

Ronald Reagan was an outspoken Christian, like Palin.  He stood up for God and the bible when it wasn’t politically expedient for him to do so.  He was a champion for life and was not afraid to face evil head on in this world.  He was one who wanted to see America restored to its position as an example to the world.  He wanted to see the government come down off of its high horse and serve the people without robbing the people of all of their resources.  He liked to talk directly to the people in spite of the media.  Sound familiar?

How do I know that Ron Jr. was up to no good?  Listen to what he was quoted as saying in regard to Palin’s belief in a God who created the world:

"It's such a profoundly anti-intellectual, anti-science stance, I don't see how you can hold high office and believe something like that."

So I thought I would share today what President Ronald Reagan actually said about God as a Creator:

“Each of us, each of you, is made in the most enduring, powerful image of Western civilization.  We’re made in the image of God the Creator” – Remarks to citizens in Hamback, Federal Republic of Germany, May 6, 1985

“How can we hope to retain our freedom through the generations if we fail to teach our young that our liberty springs from an abiding faith in our Creator?” – Remarks at a White House ceremony in observance of National Day of Prayer, May 6, 1982

“I’ve always believed that we were, each of us, put here for a reason, that there is a plan, somehow a divine plan for all of us.  I know now that whatever days are left to me belong to Him.  I also believe this blessed land was set apart in a very special way, a country created by men and women who came here not in the search of gold, but in search of God.  They would be free people, living under the law with faith in their Maker and their future.”  Remarks at the annual National Prayer Breakfast, February 4, 1982

“Two visions of the world remain locked in dispute.  The first believes all men are created equal by a loving God who has blessed us with freedom.  Abraham Lincoln spoke for us: ‘No man,’ he said, ‘is good enough to govern another without the other’s consent.’

The second vision believes that religion is opium for the masses.  It believes that eternal principles like truth, liberty, and democracy have no meaning beyond the whim of the state.  And Lenin spoke for them: ‘It is true, that liberty is precious,’ he said, ‘so precious that it must be rationed.’

Well, I’ll take Lincoln’s version over Lenin’s – and so will the citizens of the world if they’re given free choice.”  Remarks at a ceremony marking the annual observance of Captive Nations Week, July 19, 1983

Richard Dawkins and Bill O'Reilly: We report, you decide

clock July 17, 2008 00:08 by author mattaft

I absolutely love this gem... O'Reilly says "I'm throwin' in with Jesus because He's the only one who has an explaination about how all of this got here."  And Dawkins ridiculous reply "We working on that."  Priceless... and note that one of the main problems with people like Dawkins who demonstrate no understanding of the information problems in biology, early on in this piece when he says how we clearly understand how the tides work.  Notice that understanding how something works and even what the component parts are made of, have nothing to say on WHO put them there, who or what organized them with know-how, properly tuned, to function day after day.

Imagine we find a complicated engine somewhere in a desert, with gasoline and lubricants, working, etc., the whole nine yards... and say "well obviously, that gear there turns and rubs against that gear over there and these parts are made merely of metal which is found in the earth and these oils are known to be in the ground as well.  Clearly when this part goes up and down, this part over here reacts and the continual sparking of this keeps this machine going until it runs out of fuel."   Dawkins would have us believe that since we know how it's working and what it's made of, the case is solved and science has proven that this engine needed no creator and no one to make sure that the oil is topped up and the gasoline filled.  Anyone who suggests a "creator" of this device is simply an enemy of science, who's clearly trying to take the "easy way out" and suggest something besides natural forces are at work.    This is complete ignorance of the information problem.  Read my lips Mr. Dawkins:  All design has a designer.   And to believe otherwise is to be an enemy of truly observed science.   One last point.... I have always found this humorous and I can't recall where I heard it:  "Atheists don't believe in God, but some people are surprised to learn that God doesn't believe in atheists either."   In other words, God tells us that even the most ardent combat soldier against Christianity (we'll use Richard Dawkins as our example), deep down knows that there is a God.  All of observed nature makes this clear.  Since all things which exist had a causation, and a cause must be greater than it's effect, we look at this universe with it's untold billions and trillions of stars and spinning galaxies, quasars, nebulae, black holes, suns and planets, and the planet earth with its beautiful and exquisite life forms, it is readily accessible information that the cause behind it all, must truly be a GOD.

Berlinsky on the problems with introducing random mutations into a code-based organism

clock July 16, 2008 23:38 by author mattaft

What a joy it is to hear a man show no fear in marching about in the public square shouting that the emperor hasn't any clothes.  Dr. Berlinski, we salute you.  Not because you're pushing Jesus in the schools.  Not because you're anti-science.  Not because you're a rebel.  Because you are unafraid to stand up against the pseudo-science of our times and the priesthood that will blacklist you for speaking out.   Dr. Berlinski is standing up FOR science.  He is a clear and level head in a time when it has become against the rules to question the authority of Darwinism.

Watch and enjoy!

Ben Stein's Intelligent Design Movie

clock February 22, 2008 14:06 by author troytaft

I wanted to alert readers of Ben Stein's new movie: "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed".  I haven't seen it yet, but I didn't want it to go by unnoticed.

Here's a link to more information: Expelled The Movie Site

The Lie: Evolution (book review)

clock September 2, 2007 21:17 by author troytaft

In this book, Ken Ham takes a bold stand on the Bible as the literal and true word of God starting with the first verse of Genesis. He explains that many have been tricked into thinking that evolution is just science and Christianity is just religion.

This book clearly explains why this isn't true.

He explains why it is necessary for Christianity that Genesis be taken literally. He explains that what you think about your origin modifies everything you believe about life. This includes every form of study you may pursue.

This book demonstrates how a literal view of Genesis explains what we really see in the fossil record. It even explains things like why we wear clothes, and why there is suffering in the world around us.

Ken also explains why it is important that we all take a stand and explain to others the lie of evolution and be ready to defend Genesis as literal truth.

This book is very easy to read and contains many helpful illustrations.

The two appendices were very well worth reading. They provide condensed information on why evolution and creation don't mix as well as reasons why it is appropriate to believe that the world was created in only six days.

You can get the book from the Answers in Genesis bookstore

Bible FAQ

clock August 22, 2007 12:51 by author troytaft

I have moved my Bible Frequently Asked Questons page to this web site.  I am preparing my troytaft.com site as my consulting business site.  Since many of the customers who come to that site do not understand christianity, I thought it would be better if I introduce the christian resources to christians personally.  This is a resource for believers who are Spiritually minded.

The Bible FAQ covers answers to some of the same questions answered by Answers in Genesis.  Evidently AIG get's these questions frequently, I'm just shareing the burden with them and I am happy to do so.  I hope that you will find some answers and encouragement in this FAQ.

All real scientists accept evolution?

clock August 16, 2007 20:26 by author mattaft

I am tired of hearing that "there is no debate among scientists with regard to evolution."

That is a terribly misleading statement, and it is purposely misleading.  Darwin's theory of evolution is one of the most if not THE most hotly debated subjects in history. It is sweeping in it's scope, and widespread in it's use.  It's an entire worldview wrapped up in a theory.  And "Darwin's Dangerous Idea" is hardly something you could say is a settled matter -- even among scientists.   Oh, there are many *real* scientists that I could list here, who you might have heard of, Behe, Kenyon, Dembski, Wells, Berlinski -- all of whom are highly pedigreed scientists, and also strongly of the view that Darwinism falls short of it's promises.

But there is a man I'd like you to meet that you may not know about.  That man is A.E. Wilder-Smith.

Wilder-Smith, who had a "change of address" in 1995, was a scholar.  A scholar the likes of which you hardly see these days.  Wilder-Smith had a type of courage in the face of overwhelming opposition, which allowed him to speak openly and freely in complete confidence - AGAINST evolution.  Before you know the weight of that statement, understand that Wilder-Smith was not an evangelist.  Not per se... He was a Biologist of the highest order.  With a Doctrate from the same fine institution that gave us the likes of Richard Dawkins, Oxford University.   Please read his bio, clipped from his website:

A..E. Wilder-Smith studied natural sciences at Oxford, England. He received his first doctorate in Physical Organic Chemistry at Reading University, England, 1941. During World War II, he joined the Research department of ICI in England. After the war, he became Countess of Lisburne Memorial Fellow at the University of London. Subsequently, Dr. Wilder-Smith was appointed Director of Research for a Swiss pharmaceutical company. Later he was elected to teach Chemotherapy and Pharmacology at the Medical School of the University of Geneva for which position he received his "habitation" (the senior examination required for professorial appointments to European continental universities). At Geneva, he earned his second doctorate, followed by a third doctorate from the ETH (a senior university in Switzerland) in Zurich.

In 1957-1958 Wilder-Smith was Visiting Assistant Professor at the Medical Centre of the University of Illinois, 1959-1961 Visting Full Professor of Pharmacology of the University of Bergen Medical School in Norway. After a further two years at the University of Geneva, he was appointed Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Illinois Medical Centre. Here he received in three succeeding years - three ``Golden Apple Awards" for the best course of lectures, together with four senior lecturer awards for the best series of year lectures.

Dr. Wilder-Smith's last Golden Apple award was inscribed, ``He made us not only better scientists, but also better men."

 And now, an invitation:

I invite you, no matter who you are, or how you found this website, to go and visit A.E. Wilder-Smith's website.  Listen to his (free) audio and video lectures and be challenged by his messages.  His gracious manner is easy on the ears and allows you to really consider for yourself whether what he's saying is true.  He invites you to consider some of the real problems of the theory, but in a way that the lay person can understand.

I only discovered Wilder-Smith in the past year.  I am now reading the second of his books and enjoying it thoroughly.  I thank God for true men of knowledge and courage like Dr. Wilder-Smith.  In these times you can still challenge the scientific orthodoxy, but only if you are truly prepared with sound, logical arguments.  Wilder-smith has helped generations of people do just that.  In fact, Dr. Dean Kenyon, a convinced evolutionist, who wrote "Biochemical Predestination" in the 70's (this book was used for years as college text), eventually turned his back on Darwinism and it was a direct result of the argumentation put forth by Wilder-Smith.   Kenyon was an evolutionist through and through.  But he was also honest enough to face the fact that Wilder-Smith's argumentation had him on the ropes.  Kenyon has since authored a school textbook from an Intelligent Design perspective, called "Of Panda's and People", which can be purchased through Amazon.com.    The truth can change a man.   Just ask Dr. Kenyon.

Please take some time and visit: http://www.wildersmith.org/   and click on "Media Library" to enjoy the wonderful gift of his lectures.

Naturalism: Overlooking the Information Problem

clock August 16, 2007 18:50 by author troytaft

I am reminded of the problem that appears to be consistently overlooked by "naturalism" that natural selection is a decision making processes and that with our knowledge of software (and genetics) today, we know that there is no scientific evidence, even in nature, where a written reasoning process comes from matter spontaneously.  Even though there is evidence here that natural selection isn't the only selection taking place, even natural selection is "selection" which is a reasoning process.  They can choose to ignore the fact that this selection comes from programs inside the organism, but in doing so they willfully ignore the fact that they are espousing the spontaneous appearance of software within the organism.  This is analogous to me to the concept of claiming a discovery of a "perpetual motion machine" in physics.  The perpetual motion machine is the mythical machine that produces more fuel than it burns so that it can burn indefinitely without adding fuel.  We have never seen this ever (because of entropy and the conservation of energy laws).  Just as we have never seen an engine that will run without adding fuel, we have never seen code that didn't come from an intelligence. (or code that came from code that came from intelligence, or code that came from code that came from code.... it just requires even more intelligence for the first code).

Dr. Werner Git says that in the observable world, information comes only from intelligence.  Dr. Wilder-Smith reminds us that randomness is observed as a destroyer of information (that's how we erase hard-drives, by randomizing the bits which must be either ones or zeros).  It is completely nonsensical to think that randomness could produce information just as it is ridiculous to say that water started a fire.  It takes 100% blind faith to accept this explanation from an information science point of view.  This randomly generated code flies in the face of all known evidence.

Is really hard to come by
Just ask Doctor Crick

CREATIONIST HAIKU 3

I must be dumb or evil
I will pray for him

CREATIONIST HAIKU 4

DNA is real
complicated programming
Darwinism's dead.

CREATIONIST HAIKU 5

Biogenesis...
by chance is impossible
is the soup done yet?

CREATIONIST HAIKU 6

Hey look! We found one!
We'll call him Nebraska Man!
Oh, ...just a pig's tooth.

CREATIONIST HAIKU 7

A message to proud
Oh great modern scientists:
Life exists on code

CREATIONIST HAIKU 8

They say we're naive.
but they lose in all debates.
Duane Gish dominates.

CREATIONIST HAIKU 9

My, what a surprise!
